07 Jun GLT continues to grow
So far, this financial year we have used over 2,500 tyres to build almost 200 trailers! From Parkes in New South Wales, down to South Australia and all the way up to North Queensland, there have been more new GLT trailers on the road this year than ever before.
While the year has still been turbulent with snap lockdowns and challenges with international stock arriving on schedule, overall, our GLT footprint has continued to grow.
The team has climbed to over 80 including 15 apprentices. Our workforce continues to be our strength with our team committed to the quality workmanship and willingness to support our customers that Graham Lusty Trailers is known for. With Graham at the helm, the Lusty family values and knowledge of trailer building have been passed down to our long-term staff of over 10 years, to our newest group of apprentices.
Space, technology and more staff the key to growth
With the demand for quality trailers growing, GLT is looking for ways to support the industry by increasing our production numbers. This past year, manufacturing has been heavily weighted towards grain tippers with the strong grain season. However, diversifying our production to include our full range of trailers and having flexibility and additional time to invest in our bespoke designs is important to GLT.
The team have secured additional factory space in the Brisbane area, are currently recruiting to increase the workforce even further and are looking towards new technologies including robotics to help us grow.
What will the next year bring?
More of what our customers love.
• Additional production capacity for shorter lead times
• Investment in research and development to improve our trailers such as our new external retro fit body prop which comes standard with all new GLT tipper trailers.
Along with our continued passion for building quality custom trailers right here in Brisbane.
