14 Oct Working safely together
The first thing you see as you walk in the doors at our head office in Brisbane is safety glasses, hearing protection, high-vis vests and hand sanitizer. From the moment you enter, to when our trailers are in action, we are working with our customers, our employees and our guests to ensure physical safety, and well-being is a top priority.
That’s what working safety together means to us.
In Australia, October is National Safe Work Month – a time to commit to improving safety and health in the workplace. This year of extra importance is the wide-reaching impacts of COVID-19 and keeping workplace health and safety (WHS) an ongoing priority.
Australia stops without trucks, so as an essential service during COVID-19 we improved our workplace health and safety practices to meet national guidelines.
Our strong group of workplace health and safety committee members who continually review and implement new safety measures throughout the factory, keeping our team safe. And we are ready to work together with you to improve the Workplace Health and safety of your drivers with a range WHS options available when purchasing a GLT trailer.
For example, in-cabin controls for air tailgates, air grain locks, hydraulic diverters and electric tarps, give drivers the option of remaining inside the cabin at high-risk sites or to assist with social distancing.
Access doors can also be mounted in the tail gate or front wall or even better, have a camera installed internally to increase visibility. Trailer mounted video cameras can also be attached externally.
