Big cubes. Fast cycle times. Low tare weight. High speed off-road application. These requirements from our customers led us to build the 4XL series of trailers.
Using our combination of marine grade aluminium for the bodies and 700 grade steel chassis, the 100 cubic meter B-Double tares in at 25.8 tonnes. Cycle time per trailer is just under 30 seconds. Fully loaded, these trailers are rated to run at 100km per hour.
The trailers can be designed to tip either to the passenger or driver side with 7 and 8 inch phasing cylinders handling the tipping process. Our tipping design keeps the product mass close to the centre point of the trailer as the tub moves through to the 47 degree tip angle.
Trailers can be designed to work in B-Double and multi-vehicle combinations. Body width is 3.4 metres with a wheel base of just over 3 meters. All GLT trailers are laser wheel aligned prior to delivery. The highest quality parts are sourced to manufacture each GLT unit. All nuts, bolts and washers are stainless steel. Hydraulic, electrical and air lines are well protected within the chassis.
GLT offers two body options. Select from either lightweight aluminium or SAAB steel. Both material types come in a range of thicknesses.
Side sheets are rolled and pressed to increase strength, decrease contamination and reduce cracking potential.
Top coamings are fabricated from Strenx 700 grade steel and bolted to the body. This makes them compliant and easy to be replaced.
End sheets are a standard flat design with special reinforced sections where the lifting cylinders are attached.
The body sits directly on the main chassis rails providing it with excellent support while fully loaded.
All our chassis are 700 grade mechanical steel with quenched and tempered skid plates. Minor amounts 350 and 250 grade steel small profiles are used for gussets. These chassis have been scaled up in size and material thickness to handle the high stress of the application.
Each chassis is 3D modelled and laser cut. All steel work is hand welded using Miller digital pulse machines by our highly skilled tradesmen.
The 4XL series of trailers use a unique style of body pivot. The body trajectory path is linier to allow for greater control of the discharging product. Special nylon pads are used where the body rests on the chassis.
All edges on flanges are sanded and polished to reduce the chances of cracking and to help paint adhere to the steel.
GLT chassis are optimised for K-Hitch air bag suspension and oversize K-Hitch drum brake axles.
This option allows for unimpeded loading of the tub body. Top coamings can be custom made to handle abuse from rookie loader drivers.
By far our most popular option. The tarp rolls up neat and tidy out of the way when loading. When unrolled, the tarp offers a high level of cover to protect your load. Compared to the QLD style tarp, the roll over is easier for the operator to use, reducing OH&S risks. Side drop is 300mm standard and can be increased to 600mm. A full range of colours available. Razor electronic tarp upgrade available on this tarp.
These tarps retract forward to allow loading. The tarp supports can range from 200mm to 350mm high. Retractable tarps are not waterproof and leaking can occur. A full range of colours are available.
If you want the most water proof tarp option, tick this option. Tarps come standard with 300mm long flaps front and rear which are pull down tight to seal the front and rear of the tub. The side drop is standard at 600mm. This gives you a bit of extra room to roll over the heaped loads while still getting a tight seal along the side of the tub. A full range of colours are available.

Custom designed in-house by our boffins, this system uses hydraulic cylinders to open and close the hoods. The structure is made from aluminium to reduce tare weight. This system has a fast opening time at 10 seconds flat. A full range of colours are available.
Manual tarps come with stainless steel handles. Sliders and rollbacks come equipped standard with telescopic handles. All other trailers are equipped with fixed length handles as standard with telescopic as an option.
Let technology do the hard work for you. Razor is available on the retractable and roll over tarps with pelmets. This system is supplied with a Razor remote control.

This material is water-tight and comes in a range of colours. Ideal choice for operators wanting maximum protection from the elements.
Lightweight and permeable, this material comes in a range of colours.
Strong and flexible. These supports are made from composite material which bend and flex back into place. We bolt the bows into place so they always flex back at the correct angle.
This is a popular option for operators wanting a tough alternative to Flexbows. These supports can be spaced at custom intervals.
This air-operated tarp support can be operated from either the trailer via a push/pull switch or truck cabin controlled switches. The bar and centre pelmet is designed to be contamination free.
These bows are mounted into our standard flex bow pockets and bolted. These supports can be spaced at custom intervals.
This is our base level finish. It's a natural granular finish and holds up pretty well to staining.
Choose from a large range of colours to personalise your trailers. We use only premium quality paints.
A popular option. The vinyl is applied in 1400mm wide drops with a slight overlap. Each drop can be replaced if they get damaged, making it less expensive to maintain compared to paint.
Give your company an advertising boost. We have contractors who specialise in truck and trailer signwriting. They will work closely with you to custom design your signage layout.
These special valves recognise the difference in axle load and adjust braking force.
Another well-known EBS unit popular with our clients. This unit offers stability control and EBS braking. Knorr Bremse offer excellent technical aftersales support.
If safety is high on your list when operating, then you need to consider the Wabco EBS system. This electrically-controlled braking system helps to reduce the risk of serious accidents.
This is a must-have option for our RediTip range of trailers. As the trailer approaches jack knife, the EBS system will activate the brakes to save your trailers from damage.
Are you needing to protect your side sheets from abrasive loads? Rock sheeting will extend the life of your trailer. We use 4mm pressed plate and can be added to the sides, front sheet and door.
This special lining will give the floor sheet extra protection as well as provide a slick surface to reduce friction. This style of lining will increase the chances of contamination if you are hauling different loads.
Choose from either aluminium or steel. We have a range of thicknesses to suit your needs. Wear plate can be added to the floor or walls.
